Introduction
Ontario-based MyFax is a subsidiary of Protus IP Solutions (www.protus.com) which offers several types of IP services to business customers in North America.
MyFax offers you the ability to send and receive faxes anywhere you have an Internet connection. Use your desktop, laptop or smartphone to send faxes to anyone in 41 countries.
MyFax Features
When you open a MyFax account, you can select a toll-free number, a number in your local area-code or a number in any one of 15 countries. If you already have a fax number, you may be able to transfer it to your new MyFax account, or you can forward your existing number to your new MyFax number. Either way, you won’t need your old fax machine anymore.
Service Options – MyFax plans offers several plans, with the basic being the 500 fax plan. Fax per-page prices are based on a 60 second transmission time. Pages that take longer to transmit may be charged as multiple pages.
Plans for corporate users are tailored more specifically to the needs of the organization. Corporate customers get Service Level Agreements covering uptime guarantees, secure access through VPN with encryption, and the assurance of fully redundant data centers.
PC Integration – MyFax integrates with your computer in several ways. Microsoft Office applications have a “Send to Internet Fax” option. MyFax configures this option to work with their system automatically with one click. They also offer a printer driver that allows you to fax from any program that prints.
You can fax from up to 5 email addresses. Simply attach up to 8 files to an email with your recipient’s phone number as the name followed by @myfax.com. MyFax supports 178 different file formats for outbound email faxing.
Security – MyFax uses secure connections to handle your fax data, and promises complete privacy for documents stored on their servers. Your documents are stored on their servers for up to one year.
User Account Management – Your account information and profile are maintained by you through a web-based management portal. Here you can view received and sent faxes, add or remove email addresses for email faxing, and handle other account administration activities.
